The Red Ridge Activity Centre began in June 1978 under the initial company name Youth Outdoors, founded by Pete and Rosie Smith.

Group leaders are normally asked for a first deposit (approx. 10%) within days of booking, a second deposit (approx. 30%) 6 months prior, and the final payment 4 weeks prior to the visit.

A television is provided in the lounge for visiting adults. There are plenty of plug sockets in the rooms for hairdryers.
