Trainee instructor course (Volunteer)

We offer a an 18-month training programme with the goal of equipping you to become a competent, qualified outdoor instructor. The course starts in February each year, and runs to the following September. This role is perfect for someone considering a career in the outdoors, or anyone looking to gain leadership skills and experience. Former trainees have gone on to have careers in the outdoors, teaching, public service and even the military.

Who we’re looking for:

If you enjoy being outdoors, and like being around people, then we’d love to hear from you. No experience in outdoor activities is necessary (although beneficial!).

The potential NGB qualifications on offer (dependant on prior experience and pre-requisites):

Mountain Leader (Summer)
Paddlesport Instructor
Rock Climbing Instructor
Outdoor First Aid
Safeguarding Level 2
Food Hygiene Level 2
